2023 Prop Bets for the 2023 NFL Draft
2023 Prop Bets for the 2023 NFL Draft
We’re now just a day away from the NFL Draft. For bettors, I’d advise to take it carefully, because all GMs and coaches lie to reporters on the record and off the record so these Mock Drafts are mostly rubbish. Now, after saying that, you can make a few ducats betting on some props by certainly being prudent about it unless you are getting some great inside information.
(odds are from Draft Kings)
*As far as the first pick, it’s useless to bet since it’s expected to be Alabama QB Bryce Young and he’s -1000 at Draft Kings. All of a sudden, rumors are swirling that Kentucky QB Will Levis (+450) could be number one all because of an anonymous post on Reddit. Good luck with that. I’d pass.
*As for the second pick, the latest buzz has EDGE Tyree Wilson from Texas (+145) becoming the first defensive player drafted. That’s not bad value there and if you can also get a decent prop for 1st Defensive Player taken, go for it. DK has him at -150 and Alabama EDGE Will Anderson at +120. I’d look for better value with that, but go with Wilson to be picked second.
Another good prop bet to take a look at is the first WR selected. This is a pretty wide-open draft for wide receivers. But since most feel that Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njiba is going to be the first WR taken, it might be wise to look at the No. 2 receiver prop bet. Boston College WR Zay Flowers (+120) is the favorite, but I’d look at Jordan Addison from USC (+250), who some feel could even go earlier than Smith-Njiba, which would hurt that prop. Stick with Jordan Addison as the second wide receiver selected. If you want to take a long shot, 6-3 TCU receiver Quentin Johnson (+500) is not a bad risk.
In terms of Draft Position, everyone seems to think Anthony Richardson, the Florida QB, is expected to go in the top 10. But if you think he’s going to go higher than 8, take a chance on Over 7.5 +110. He would be considered more of a high-risk, high-reward type of quarterback.
How about total offensive players taken in the first round? I’m thinking that there’s going to be a run on cornerbacks and pass rushers throughout and should be at least 16 defensive players.
Take Over 14.5 +255 in Total Defensive Players Drafted in First Round.
There is one running back people seem to think is going in the first round and that’s Bijan Robinson. After that, there probably won’t be another running back drafted until the second round so:
Total Running Backs Drafted in the First Round? Under 1.5 +160
As for value on players getting drafted in the first round? Go with
DJ Turner +475 (Michigan corner)
Steve Avila +155 (good TCU center)
Cam Smith +400 (quality South Carolina corner)
Total Big 12 Players Drafted in the First Round?
Over 4.5 +170
I think you’re looking at at least five Big 12 players including EDGE Will McDonald (Iowa State), Robinson (Texas), OT Anton Harrison (Oklahoma), WR Quentin Johnson (TCU), and EDGE Tyree Wilson (Texas Tech).
