2024-25 NHL Hart Trophy Odds
The NHL season is about a month away which means training camp is about to start. The Hart Trophy is the premier award for the MVP of the NHL. Last season, Colorado’s Nathan McKinnon collected his first Hart Trophy after scoring a career-high 140 points and 14 points in the postseason in just 11 games.
(odds from Fan Duel)
Favorite: Connor McDavid, Edmonton +150
McDavid has won the Hart Trophy three times and was in contention last season with 132 points in 76 games. He was the fourth player to record 100 assists in a single season and won the Conny Smythe Trophy despite Edmonton’s Game 7 loss to Florida in the Stanley Cup Final.
My Pick: McKinnon, Colorado +500
You can pick McKinnon or McDavid in just about every season. But to get +500 is a pretty good deal for McKinnon. He has gone from every good player to great in the last three seasons. The 29-year-old center had a career-high in goals with 51 and assists with 89, showing that when he plays all 82 games, he puts up spectacular numbers. Of course, Auston Matthews, who has led the NHL in goals in three of the last four years, is also in the mix.
Long shot: David Pastrnak, Boston +1100
Pastrnak is the master of the power play and is fifth in points over the last two seasons. He has one of the best shots in the game and at 28, is still in his prime. He’s also pretty durable having played the full slate of 82 games in two straight seasons, where he scored 108 goals and racked up 223 points in that span.
