April 20 (before 5pmET)
C Evan Cole (6-10, 226). Former school: Georgia Tech (4.4ppg, 3.6rpg). New school: Utah Valley.
Comments: Cole played three seasons at Georgia Tech and averaged around 13 minutes off the bench. He should start for Utah Valley.
G Jalen Coleman-Lands (6-4, 185). Former school: DePaul (11.1ppg, 32.1% 3pt). New school: ?
Comments: Grad transfer who started his career at Illinois. Had decent numbers, but his shooting numbers were atrocious last season (36.3% FG). Maybe he needs to transfer down to a mid-major.
G Tyler Harris (5-9, 150). Former school: Memphis (8.7ppg, 36.4% 3pt). New school: ?
Comments: A small guard who can play, but not a pure point guard. Could help bigger schools off the bench or start for a mid-major. Has two years left.
G Chris Herren (6-3, 174). Former school: Boston College (1.7ppg). New school: San Diego.
Comments: The son of the talented and troubled guard Chris Herren Sr. The younger Herren doesn't appear to be as talented or troubled as his dad. Transferring to San Diego might help though taking a year off might be a good thing to get stronger and improve his skills.
G Landers Nolley (6-7, 230). Former school: Virginia Tech (15.5ppg, 5.8rpg). New school: Memphis
Comments: Nolley had a good freshman season though can still work on his shooting. He shot just 37% from the field last season. Another good pickup for Penny Hardaway at Memphis.
G Cameron Parker (6-2, 170). Former school: Sacred Heart (10.1ppg, 4.9rpg). New school: Montana.
Comments: Parker played in two seasons at Sacred Heart and averaged a whopping 7.8 assists last season. Montana gets a quality point guard for two seasons in the Big Sky.
F Cordell Pemsl (6-9, 248). Former school: Iowa (2.8ppg). New school: Virginia Tech
Comments: Pemsl started 16 games in his freshman season at Iowa and hasn't played much since. Is a grad transfer so he'll be able to help in the frontcourt right away.
G Darius Perry (6-2, 195). Former school: Louisville (5.2ppg, 2.5apg). New school: Memphis.
Comments: Perry played three years at Louisville and never longer than 19.5 minutes per game. SHould
G Anthony Roberts (6-4, 190). Former school: Kent State (12.7ppg, 2.4apg). New school: St. Bonaventure.
Comments: Roberts was a quality guard for Kent State last season, shooting 36.3% from beyond the arc. He does have two years left and would have to sit out barring a rule change. Good pickup by the Bonnies.
C Joshua Tomaic (6-10, 235). Former school: Maryland (4.4mpg). New school: ?
Comments: Let's get this straight. Maryland lost Ricky Lindo Jr. (transfer) and Jalen Smith to the NBA. So they lost three potential starting post players leaving them 7-3 Chol Marial, who barely got on the floor last season. Tomaic has one year left and has the body to help teams and might be able to start at a mid-major.
G Zion Young (6-4, 190). Former school: Western Illinois (13.2ppg, 41.3% 3pt). New school: Oakland
Comments: Young shot 41.3% from beyond the arc as a sophomore, so Oakland is getting a quality shooter. They also might be getting him next season. He could get a waiver considering his coach was fired last season.
