College Football Perfect Ten Week 2: September 4th

The first official week of College Football didn’t disappoint including a few upsets. Here’s the latest Perfect 10 as the CFB Playoff scramble continues.

Perfect 10 Week One

Sad to see you go: LSU & Utah Welcome to the Playoff Hunt: Miami & Penn State; Let’s take a look at our newest version of the Perfect Ten

  1. Georgia (+280) - Well, no need to worry about whether or not the Bulldogs are ready to make a bid for the National Title for the second time in three seasons. After a slow start, they exerted their will on Clemson and dominated on their way to a 34-3 win. They get a light one this week with a home game against Tenn. Tech. Last Week: #1

  1. Ohio State (+400) - The Buckeyes will be playing with a chip on their shoulder all year, certainly until they welcome the Wolverines into town in November. They rolled to a 52-6 win in week one and should continue to dominate this week at home against Western Michigan. Last Week: #2

  1. Texas (+750) - After an easy opener against Colorado State, the Longhorns will be tested as they travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines this week. They look ready. Last Week: #3

  1. Notre Dame (+1600) - The Irish did what they had to do in a hostile environment at College Station on Saturday night. The offense was physical and the defense was stingy in a 23-13 win over the Aggies. Things get considerably easier this week with a home date against Northern Illinois. Last Week: #5

  1. Oregon (+750) - Oregon struggled a bit in their home opener, eeking out a 10-point win over Idaho. They’ll welcome Boise State into Eugene this week. They’ll look for more production from an offense that is expected to be explosive. Last Week: #4

  1. Ole Miss (+1400) - We said it would be a cupcake game against Furman and Ole Miss didn’t disappoint with a 76-0 win. Don’t expect them to be tested this week either when they host Middle Tennessee. Last Week: #6

  1. Alabama (+1200) - The Kalen DeBoer Era opened smoothly enough with a 63-0 win over Western Kentucky. ‘Bama gets South Florida this week and don’t expect them to take this game lightly. Last Week: #7

  1. Miami (+2500) - Well, the Cam Ward Heisman Watch is officially on. The Washington State transfer came flying out of the gate for the Hurricanes and gave a team desperate for consistency at quarterback a real jolt. With this defense and an improved offense, uh oh. Last Week: Unranked

  1. Penn State (+2000) - Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is surely happy he decided to stay in Happy Valley. Allar looked poised and confident in the Nittany Lions 34-12 win at West Virginia. Their schedule is fairly light. This could be a playoff team. They won’t be tested this week against Bowling Green at home. Last Week: Unranked

  1. Missouri (+4000) - The Tigers will have their hands full once the SEC season gets underway but they will be able to go toe to toe offensively with anyone. They blasted Murray State 51-0 and now get another light one at home against Buffalo. Last Week: #9

Week Two Game of the Week:

#3 Texas (-7.5) at #11 Michigan: Michigan is the defending National Champion but this should be an unusual season with a new head coach, a new quarterback, and a new lead running back. The oddsmakers aren’t too confident in them giving them 7.5 points at home. Texas comes into the Big House and is giving more than a touchdown? I might be hard-pressed not to consider taking the points even with all the new intangibles on the Michigan squad.
