David's Top Five NFL Draft Props
The National Football League season is still a few months away and let’s hope that it begins on time, even if there are no fans in the stands. This is a big week for the NFL, along with many college players looking to make a name for their selves at this level. On Thursday, the NFL will conduct the 2020 draft and it will be a bit different as Roger Goddell will be presiding over it from his basement. Yes, that is what it has come to in the world today. The Draft also gives bettors a chance to make some money with the many props that are available. In this article, I will be giving you my top five draft props.
5. Tua Tagovailoa Draft Position: Over 5.5 (-130) Under 5.5 (-110)
The Dolphins have the 5th pick in the draft and some draft boards have them taking Tua in this spot but there are others that feel they will select Justin Herbert with the fifth overall pick. I feel that they will be going for Herbert. He has just as much potential to be a solid NFL QB as Tagovailoa does but without the medical history. Tua has had some injury issues and I feel that he will slide to the 6th spot or beyond. Maybe the Chargers will take him 6th. Still, because of his medical history, I do not see Tua going in the first five picks. Prediction: Over 5.5 (Sportsbook.ag)
4. First 3 Wide Receivers Drafted - Exact Order
This is a bit of a long shot but I do like it. I feel that Ceedee Lamb will be the first WR to go in this draft and he should go to either the Jets (11th) or Raiders (12th), who need a lot of help at this position. I am expecting the speed Henry Ruggs III to go next. I give him the edge over Jeudy because of his speed. He would be a great pick for either the Raiders or Niners (13th). Both need a fast receiver and he is one of the fastest in the draft. Lastly, is Jerry Jeudy, who will most likely end up at San Fran or Tampa Bay, who is in the 14th spot. The Bucs now have Tom Brady and getting Lamb at this spot would be a very good pick for them. Prediction: Ceedee Lamb (1st), Henry Ruggs III (2nd), and Jerry Jeudy (3rd) at +650 (BetOnline.ag).
3. First Running Back Selected
I would first like to say that there will be just one running back selected in the first round, but taking the under 1.5 on that prop was too pricey at -750. D’Andre Swift has been a force in the SEC the last two years, rushing for 1237 and 1016 yards but I have to go with Jonathan Taylor as the first RB selected. Taylor has compiled 6,174 yards and 50 TDs on the ground in just three years at Wisconsin. Last year, he showed that he can be a receiver as well, catching 26 balls for 252 yards and five TDs. He is a beast and has an NFL-ready body which will serve him well at that level. Swift will go shortly after but it will be Taylor that gets selected first between the two, plus there is value on him at +130. Prediction: Jonathan Taylor +230 (BetOnline.ag)
2. Ceedee Lamb Draft Position Over 12.5 (+140) Under 12.5 (-185)
Ceedee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy will probably go back-to-back in the draft and the three teams that need a receiver most are the Jets at number 11, the Raiders at number 12 and the 49ers at number 13. I do not see him lasting till the 49ers pick. The Jets are in desperate need of a WR to give Sam Darnold a solid target to throw to. The Raiders are also looking to add a WR after TE Jared Cook led them in receiving last year with 896 yards. Jordy Nelson was 2nd with 723 yards, but he has retired. Lamb will not make it past the 12th pick. Prediction: Ceedee Lamb Under 12.5 (-185) (Sportsbook.ag)
1. First Offensive Lineman Selected
The New York Giants have their sights set on nabbing a top not OL with the 4th pick in the draft overall. New York was originally looking at Tristan Wirfs from Iowa but he has slipped a bit in the draft and they now have their sights set on Jedrick Wills from Alabama. It’s hard to pass up a top-notch Alabama offensive lineman and the Giants do need help upfront. They have to protect QB Daniel Jones, plus open up holes for Saquon Barkley. Wills is the safest bet for the Giants with the 4th pick in the draft. Prediction: Jedrick Wills -130 (BetOnline.ag)
Bonus Prop: Cats Seen In First Round: Over .5 (-130) Under .5 (-110)
Let’s make a bonus selection just for fun and this will be a fun one. Many players have pets and with the draft being held in everyone’s homes, the chances of seeing pets are great. Having said that, the rooms that the players are in will have 5-10 people in it on average and Cats are not very good around crowds of people. Dogs are much better but cats aren’t. I know, I have two of my own and when anyone even knocks on the door, they hide. I see that happening here. The Cats will hide with all of the excitement going on in the room and that is why I do not see any of them being seen in the first round of the draft. Prediction: Under .5 Cats In the First Round at -110 (BetOnline.ag).
There are my Top Five Draft Props and a bonus one for fun. I will now be working on my 1st Round Mock Draft and also over the weekend, be sure and look for my full WNBA Draft. I may even have it done by Friday. Stay Safe Everyone!!!
