Greetings friends! The LPL Summer Split continues to truck along, almost too fast. It seems like I've blinked and all of a sudden we're nearing the end of Week 4 action. Anywho, today's slate isn't quite as intriguing as some have been lately but there's still money to be made. Our whole eSports department has been on fire lately, and we're looking to keep the ball rolling. The first series of the slate will be between Suning Gaming and the underperforming Dominus Esports. This will be followed by FunPlus Phoenix and Estar Gaming, a series that could potentially be great. Enough of the chit-chat though, let's hop right in!
Suning Gaming (-575) vs. Dominus Esports (+350)
The first series of the day is somewhat of a tale of two tapes. Suning Gaming didn't make many changes in between splits, and they seem to be on the path to repeat their average results from the Spring Split. Meanwhile, Dominus Esports has a new Mid Laner, Bot Laner and Support for this split, and their team looks horrible with the changes. The loss of xiye, GALA and Mark was huge for them, and it's shown with DMO's 0-5 series record and they have yet to even win a game within a series yet. I originally thought that DMO would figure things out somewhere in the middle of the Summer Season, but I have since changed my opinion on them. I seriously think that DMO will pull a Victory Five and fail to even win a game the entire split, and I am completely off their wagon. I like the team chemistry between Suning's players and they are fresh off a 2-0 sweep over Rogue Warriors. I don't believe that DMO will give Suning much trouble here, so I'll play this one the cheapest way possible.
Pick: Suning Gaming -1.5 Games (-145)
FunPlus Phoenix (-300) vs. Estar (+210)
The second series of the day will be between two teams who have been somewhat underperforming this split. Surprisingly enough, FunPlus Phoenix's record is only 2-2 while Estar's is 2-3. FPX has wins over Team WE and Bilibili Gaming, but they have losses to Invictus Gaming and LNG, the second of which was unexpected. Estar's only two wins have come over DMO and LNG, and they haven't looked nearly as impressive as I thought they would so far. Breaking this one down lane by lane, I believe that FPX has a clear advantage almost everywhere. However, FPX has been shaky thus far in closing games out and Estar has taken a game in all three of their series losses. I'm very tempted to take Estar's moneyline with the nice price tag behind it, but I feel as though FPX can pull it together to ultimately win this series. My play on the last series of the day will be on the over as I believe that Estar has enough moxie to take a game in this series before taking a series loss.
