Free Picks For Remington Park - 9/3/20

Race 1 - $5,000 Claiming (Purse - $11,475)

Seven geldings will sprint five and one-half furlongs. #2 Fearless Will is back on the claiming circuit where he seems to be the most comfortable. The 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred horse has finished “in the money” in all three starts of his life, which includes winning in driving fashion going this distance and level at Will Rogers Park on May 20. Fearless Will, who has a 33% strike rate at this distance, also put up a nice five-furlong workout session for trainer Francisco Bravo. While #1 Irish Capital hasn’t gotten a result in several races, he does like going this distance and running at Remington Park as he leads the field in both categories. #5 Dance Doctor drops down in class after being outrun in her last effort going six furlongs against $10,000 claimers at Prairie Meadow on Aug. 7. The 5-year-old runs very well at this distance and a Remington throughout his career.

Picks: I like a win bet on the #2. I also like a #2, #1, #3 exacta box.

Race 2 - $15,000 Claiming (Purse -$15,840)

Eight fillies and mares 4-year-old and upwards will go five furlongs on the turf. There are three horses that have some speed -- #4 Tashiara, #1 Fairwayingreen, and #5 Lynah Rink. Tashiara is arguably the fastest pony in the field and the 4-year-old filly has run well this year. The daughter of Exchange Rate returns to the turf, where she won a five-furlong event against $25,000 optional claimers at Canterbury Park(July 16), after fifth in a six-furlong event on the dirt at Lone Star the last time out. Tashiara has won two of her three career starts at Remington Park. Lynah Rink has shown that the turf is her best surface, collecting a win at a 23% rate on the grass and has earned 10 of her 12 top 3 finishes on the turf as well. The 5-year-old mare is dropping down slightly in the competition (June 10) after coming off her best race of the year at this distance, moving up to third after showing good courage in the stretch at Lone Star against $25,000-$20,000 claimers. Lynah Rink is also coming off a fantastic workout on Aug. 21 and her trainer, Ronnie Cravens, and jockey, David Cabrera, team has won 29% of their races together. #1 Fairwayingreen has been very good on the turf, placing in the top 3 in 81.8% of her meets though she finished second or third in eight of these nine such occurrences. The 5-year-old mare, who runs well at this distance, set the pace in her last race and was even leading into the stretch but wore down and then held on for show (by a neck) at the wire in a five- and one-half furlong event on the grass at Prairie Meadow versus $15,000 claimers. Trainer F. Dewaine Loy and jockey Richard Eramia have a good working relationship as well.

Picks: I like a winning bet on the #4. I also like a show bet on the #1. In addition, I like an exacta box of #4, #1, #5.
