Gambit vs. Nemiga, Preview & Prediction - Free 1/15 CS:GO
Gambit Team Stats and Latest Results
Gambit is the highest-ranked team of all participants at this tournament, and they received an invitation to join in the playoffs. The Russians played well before the winter break as they won the title at the MIDNITE Nine to Five 7 thanks to wins over Dignitas, K23, and forZe, without dropping a single map along the way. They came to the Vulkan Fight Series 2020 and defeated Winstrike 2-0 in the quarter-finals. Gambit won 25 of the previous 27 matches.
In the last three months, Gambit was excellent on Vertigo (80.0% win rate) and played well on Overpass (62.9%), Dust2 (59.2%), and Inferno (58.2%), while their “weakest” displays came on Train (54.0%). Gambit assembled its current squad in October 2020 and appeared on 89 maps with a record of 72 wins and 17 losses. The team members are Hobbit (1.06 rating), interz (1.00), Ax1Le (1.14), sh1ro (1.26), and nafany (1.04).
Nemiga Team Stats and Latest Results
Nemiga went to the winter break in a much worse mood than Gambit, losing six of seven matches before defeating NAVI Junior in the quarter-final of this tournament. That poor form caused Nemiga to drop to the No. 25 in the CS:GO rankings, but they are still the second-best ranked team at the Vulkan Fight Series 2020. However, Nemiga is facing one of the hottest teams in the world, and anything but their loss would be a shock. Nemiga lost 11 of the last 16 games.
During the last three months, Nemiga was decent on Overpass (66.7%) and Inferno (62.5%), while they failed to get a victory on Train (played four times), and were not good enough on Dust2 (33.3%) and Mirage (37.5%). Nemiga is also playing with the same lineup since October last year and appeared on 55 maps with a record of 27 wins and 28 losses. The lineup consists of mds (0.99), Jyo (1.05), speed4k (0.96), boX (0.99), and lollipop21k (1.15).
Gambit vs. Nemiga H2H Record
These rivals have met on ten occasions so far, and Gambit is leading the all-time series 7-3. The Russians won each of the last five duels, including the latest one at the DreamHack Open December 2020.
Gambit vs. Nemiga Betting Preview
Gambit was pretty confident in the previous four H2H meetings as they defeated Nemiga 2-0 in each. Considering the current form and that H2H record, I am backing Gambit to cover the -1.5 handicap once again here. Backing them to get a straight win doesn’t have value, and even the -1.5 spread is not very attractive, given the -179 odds. Still, I don’t think Nemiga has quality to get a map here, so I am going with the favorites to secure an easy win and reach the playoffs without trouble.
The Pick: Gambit -1.5 (-179 @GG.BET)
