“Hard Knocks” Could Be On It’s Way To The City Of Angels
HBO’s “Hard Knocks” is a series that takes place every summer and chronicles a team during their training camp. For the first time since the series began in 2001, HBO is looking to have two teams featured. That is, as long as training camps do take place. The two teams that they are looking to cover are the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.
For the Rams, it would be the second time that HBO covered them, with the other time being back in 2016. The Rams went just 4-12 that year. Dallas (2002 and 2008) and Cincinnati (2009 and 2013) were the only other teams to be covered twice in the series.
It does make sense that HBO would look to cover two teams at once, especially with them both being in the same city and also being moved into the new SoFi Stadium. We also note that NFL Films is located in Los Angeles and that will reduce their travel during this difficult time.
Let’s take a look at a few numbers here. Teams that have been on the show “Hard Knocks” have gone a combined 105-118-1 straight-up in the season that HBO has covered them. Breaking it down, we see that teams went 60-52 the first seven years of the series but just 45-66-1 the last 7, including 23-40-1 the last four years. Teams have gone 92-96-4 ATS the last 12 years when they have been covered, including 28-34-2 ATS the last four years. Just some numbers to chew on. If they are covered this year, how will the Rams and Chargers fare? We shall see.
