Hello my friends! It's Friday in America, and that can only mean that the LCS is back in action. Today's slate only features two games, but they both should be very good games nonetheless. Team SoloMid (TSM) looks to complete the season sweep of 100 Thieves in the first contest of the day. The following match will be between a pair of North American eSports blue-bloods as Team Liquid looks to avoid falling to Evil Geniuses for the second time this season. Without further delay, let's look into these contests shall we?
TSM (-210) vs. 100 Thieves (+150)
The opening match of today's slate will be between the 6-4 Team SoloMid (TSM) and the 4-6 100 Thieves. TSM started the Summer Season strongly, but they have since lost two straight. It's been a bumpy ride so far for them, but the fact that they still sit third in the standings with their 6-4 record is a testament to how even the LCS playing field is right now. Meanwhile, 100 Thieves has been the epitome of underperformance. Their Bot Laner Cody Sun is one of the most talented in the world, but the rest of their team hasn't been able to find any sort of consistency. TSM has Bjergsen as their Mid Laner who is one of the best in the LCS, and he will give 100 Thieves's Mid Laner Ryoma a headache in this one. TSM has taken care of 100 Thieves once already this season, and I look for them to complete the season sweep in convincing fashion.
Pick: TSM Spread -5.5 Kills (-115)
Team Liquid (-195) vs. Evil Geniuses (+140)
The second (and final) contest of the day will be between two tough teams with a lot of fight in them. Team Liquid comes in with an 8-2 record, and although Evil Geniuses is only 5-5 they do own a win over Team Liquid already this season. Mid Laner Jensen and Bot Laner Tactical have been outstanding for Team Liquid as they both have KDAs over 6 and have average creep scores of at least 334 as well. Meanwhile, Evil Geniuses haven't been quite as impressive statistically but they prefer a more methodical approach to games which accounts for this difference. Evil Geniuses's veteran Mid Laner Jiizuke hasn't been nearly as impressive as he has been in the past, and Bot Laner Bang has found himself carrying the slack. These teams only had 12 combined kills in their first meeting, and I believe this rematch will be similar. Evil Geniuses will bring a slower-paced approach to the game, and Team Liquid doesn't mind playing slowly either.
