NFL Free Agency Recap 3/26 - Slow But Productive Day

Thursday was another slow day on the waiver wire as teams continue to prepare their plan for the upcoming draft. The Bills were the big winners of the day as they inked in two young players who should play a significant role on the field on either side of the ball. They were able to resign cornerback E.J. Gaines. The 28-year-old was originally signed with the team last year before suffering an injury and being cut. They also added a big piece to the offensive line in tackle Daryl Williams. The 27-year-old played in all 16 games for the Panthers last season and he also started in 12 of those contests.

It was relatively slow in other action around the league. The Ravens signed XFL long-snapper Nick Moore, being the 11th player signed from the league this offseason. He is a talented guy that was originally recruited to play linebacker in college and also spent some time playing fullback. He also spent a little time playing minor league baseball in the Boston Red Sox's organization.

The Colts made a nice addition to their secondary when they signed cornerback Xavier Rhodes for a one year deal as well Thursday. He is coming off of a nice season where he started 15 games in Minnesota with 63 tackles although he failed to grab an interception for the first time since the 2013 season.

The rest of the transactions during the day featured a lot of prospects inking deals. Detroit signed wide receiver Geremy Davis while Arizona resigned veteran tackle Marcus Gilbert who is looking for a resurgence after seeing his playing time dwindle the past few years. The Browns brought on center Evan Brown, the Jaguars added wide receiver Terry Godwin and Minnesota signed center Brett Jones. The day was wrapped up with a pair of younger defensive tackle prospects finding a new home when the Giants added Austin Johnson and the Raiders inked a deal with Daniel Ross.
