Sharks lost the Grand final of the ESL Pro League Season 12 South America as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to BOOM, despite having a 1-0 lead by default, and are hoping for revenge in this clash on Monday. After beating RED Canids and Imperial, Sharks again lost to BOOM, and it was a painful one as Sharks won just nine rounds in the process. They did bounce back with a 2-0 victory over Isurus in the semi-final. Sharks won 11 of the previous 13 matches.
During the past three months, Sharks was invincible on Nuke (played seven times) and Train (played five times), while they were strong on Dust2 (80.0% win rate) and Mirage (66.7%). They won each of the previous three tournaments they took part in: Gamers Club Masters V, Esportsmaker Invitational 2020, and ESL Pro League Season 12 South America, and now are in a pole position to win the fourth in a row. BOOM beat Isurus, Imperial, Keyd, RED Canids (twice), and Sharks to reach the Grand final, without dropping a single map along the way. BOOM won 15 of the last 16 games.
When it comes to the maps in the previous three months, BOOM didn’t suffer a defeat on Inferno (five times played), Nuke (played two times), and Train (played four times), while they displayed strong performances on Vertigo (88.9%) and Mirage (87.5%). Their “weakest” displays came on Overpass (66.7%). Since July 2020, BOOM is playing with the current lineup and appeared on 38 maps with a fantastic record of 33 wins and five losses. Nothing can stop BOOM at the moment, and I am backing them to win this tournament in style, without a single map dropped. That’s why I am going with them to win 2-0, even though I don’t like to play that in the finals of the tournament. They are the dominant force.
