Team Liquid vs. Ze Pug Godz Preview & Prediction - Free CS:GO Betting Picks 8/8

Team Liquid and Ze Pug Godz will face each other in the DreamHack Open Summer 2020 North America. The online CS:GO tournament has eight teams competing for a $90,000 prize pool. The first-placed team wins $35,000 and 100 ESL Pro Tour points. The group stage has a double-elimination GSL format while the playoffs are single-elimination best-of-three matches.

Team Liquid Preview

Team Liquid recently underwent a roster change when the organization replaced its long-standing member nitr0 with Grim. The 19-year-old new addition brings a lot of firepower to the roster and something that, the players hope, will help them get back to the top three ranks. Team Liquid is the ninth best team and has slipped many ranks in the past year.

Team Liquid has dominated the North American landscape, but has repeatedly faltered against the best NA teams like Evil Geniuses and sometimes, Gen.G. The players are not in their prime right now and are often caught lacking compared to their counterparts in other teams. Grim’s addition will hopefully solve most of the team’s firepower issues.

That being said, Grim will play his first match for Team Liquid in the DreamHack Open Summer 2020 North American tournament. The young player still needs time to adjust to the new roster and develop synergy with the rest of the squad.

Ze Pug Godz Preview

Ze Pug Godz is a North American CS:GO roster that is ranked 51st in the world. The team comprises upcoming CS:GO players who have proven themselves on some other rosters previously. However, Ze Pug Godz is akin to a random bunch of players trying to get as many frags.

While the team has a high skill ceiling, the lack of a strategic depth to their gameplay puts it at a disadvantage. Ze Pug Godz is strong on Train, Nuke and Dust2. The team has a passive hold; although it is not out of the ordinary to see the players rush through the B bombsite, even on the defense.

With a 1.26 rating, MarkE has been one of the top performers for the team. Former Cloud9 player, Zellsis is also a strong contender for the title of the best player on the roster.

Pick: Team Liquid Handicap -1.5 Maps (-175 @ Pinnacle)

Team Liquid is the favorite to win this series. The roster has a very high skill ceiling and not long ago, Team Liquid was challenging Astralis for the title of the best team in the world. The North American roster has excellent strategies which they bring out against the best in the world. But when facing a low-ranked opponent like Ze Pug Godz, the sheer difference in aim and movement is more than enough for Team Liquid to win this match with a -1.5 handicap.
