Top NFL Free Agents for 2023 – Wide Receivers

The NFL regular season is over and the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Now is the time for teams to try and fill holes on their roster and for bettors to keep track of the major moves. There are a lot of questions about which players will be free agents or how many quarterbacks will be either franchise tagged, traded or both. This is one of the worst free-agent wide receiver classes in years.

Let’s take a look at the top unrestricted free agents available as of Feb. 28. Some players could be re-signed before 4pmET on Wednesday, March 15 when NFL free agency officially starts.

Player Former Team Age

Jakobi Meyers New England 26

Meyers caught 67 passes for 804 yards with six TDs in a run-happy offense with a mediocre QB. He’s a good router runner with good size, but not a burner. He does have great hands and his contested catch rate is elite.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Kansas City 26

Smith-Schuster has been around awhile or at least it appears that way. He’s a tough receiver who can play the slot, but is not dynamic. Had 78 catches for 933 yards and 3 TDs last season.

Allen Lazard Green Bay 27

Who wouldn’t want a 6-5 receiver who caught 60 passes for 788 yards with six TDs? He was a number one in Green Bay and could be in other situations, but he’s a better number two receiver.

D.J. Chark Detroit 26

Chark has the talent to be very good, but injuries hampered him last season. He’s a risk, but is very talented after producing 16.7 yards per catch last season.

Darius Slayton NY Giants 26

Slayton is another receiver who has struggled with injuries. He caught 46 passes last season for 724 yards.

Odell Beckham Jr. LA Rams (2021) 30

The veteran did not play last season after injuring his knee in the Super Bowl in 2022. Before the injury, he averaged 84.7 receiving yards through the playoffs. If he still has the ability to separate, he’ll be the top free agent.

Noah Brown Dallas 27

Brown was a solid number two last season for Dallas, catching 43 passes for 555 yards and three TDs.

Parris Campbell Indianapolis 26

Campbell caught 63 passes for 623 yards last season for a mess of an offense in Indy. He adds speed to any corps and would be a very nice second option.

Mecole Hardman Kansas City 24

If you want a speedster, Hardman is the player to turn to, but he just can’t seem to stay healthy. A new team might help do the trick.

Mack Hollins Las Vegas 29

Hollins is one of those late bloomers, who had 690 yards receiving and stayed healthy. He’s also 6-4, 220 who was never given an opportunity in Miami and Philadelphia.
