UFC on ESPN 31: Aldo vs Font - Card Preview - 12/04/21
A break in the action last week means we have a bloated 15 fight lineup this Saturday, December 4th at the Apex Centre in Las Vegas. This one is headlined by number 4 ranked bantamweight, Rob Font, and Brazilian legend and future hall of famer, Jose Aldo (ranked 5th). Both are angling for a title shot but will be forced to wait in line for an interim title unification match with Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling. Not to mention the reinsertion of former champion, TJ Dillashaw back into the bantamweight mix.
The main card is actually filled with quality matches that should be very competitive. Riddell and Fiziev are top 15 lightweights in the co main slot. Both guys are never in a boring fight so that promises to be a good one. The winner will be knocking on the door to face all the household names of the lightweight top 10. Australian prospect, Jimmy Crute, returns after losing to Anthony Smith last time out (doctor stoppage due to foot injury). He’ll battle Jamahal Hill on the main card. Both combatants are in the top 15 in the light heavyweight division.
Even the prelims look to be very evenly matched so the judges may have their work cut out for them. These fights are kicking off 7pm EST and should chug along pretty quickly if all 30 fighters stay healthy and make it to fight night.
Overall a pretty solid fight night card to whet the appetite for the big PPV the following week. Check out the entire lineup below:
