Where Will Jadeveon Clowney End Up

That is still anyone’s guess, NFL Insider Charles Robinson feels that the Cleveland Browns are the team that he will play for in 2020. The 27-year-old played for the Seattle Seahawks last year and at the end of the season, he entered free agency with hopes of landing a deal worth 20 million or more. Many feel that Clowney should sign a one year deal with a team and then re-enter the market next year. It remains to be seen if that is the course he will opt for but we do note that the Browns have the financial means to meet his needs. We do note that Clowney has lowered his demands to 17 million.

Jadeveon began his career with five years in Houston, where he racked up 29 sacks, 67 QB hits and 64 tackles for loss. Last year, he signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks and had three sacks, 7 tackles for loss, and 13 QB hits. He is well worth money and could give a huge boost to a Cleveland defense that is already solid. Still, some teams have been reluctant to sign his as his numbers have declined every year since 2017 and he is injury prone.

Could you imagine Myles Garrett and Clowney on the defensive line together? Opposing quarterbacks would be quaking in their shoes. Last year Garrett piled up 10 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and 20 solo tackles. The year before, he had 13.5 sacks, 35 solo tackles and 12 tackles for loss. What a dominant line that would be. The Browns do have a solid defense, to begin with, but it does need some upgrading if they hope to keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North. The offense should be very good and the addition of Clowney would make the defense very scary.

There are other teams that have expressed in Clowney this offseason, including the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans, and the Baltimore Ravens. Could you imagine how much better the Ravens would be if they got him? The Browns must make sure that doesn’t happen. It would be surprising to not see Clowney land on a team prior to the start of the regular season. Stay tuned.
